About the Project
One Man. Hundreds of Cows. A Mission Fueled by Compassion.
For years, the people of Kashi have known him by a special name "Cow Baba."
Every day, while most people pass by stray cows on the streets, Cow Baba stops.
He carries fodder.
He carries water.
He spends his time, energy, and earnings serving the voiceless beings that many choose to ignore.
His mission is simple:
No cow should sleep hungry.
No cow should suffer without care.
The Painful Reality of Street Cows
Across Kashi, countless cows wander the streets in search of food.
Many are beaten away with sticks instead of being offered a handful of fodder.
Many survive by eating plastic from garbage heaps.
Many are found standing in drains, garbage dumps, and unsafe places, searching for anything they can eat.
These are the same cows we call Gau Mata.
Yet every day, they struggle to survive.
A Man Who Could Not Look Away
When Cow Baba sees a hungry cow, he cannot ignore it.
He arranges fodder from wherever he can.
He distributes water during the scorching summer months.
He places water pots in his vehicle so thirsty cows can drink.
His entire day revolves around Gau Seva.
Not because someone pays him.
Not because anyone asked him to.
But because he believes:
"Gau Mata is our mother. Serving her is the greatest Dharma."
The Challenge: Gau Seva on a Rented Auto
Today, Cow Baba performs this seva using a rented auto-rickshaw.
Every day he spends a significant amount on:
• Vehicle rent
• Fuel expenses
• Fodder transportation
• Water distribution
Despite financial struggles, he continues.
Many days, he worries about how he will manage the next day's expenses.
Yet he never stops serving.
