Save the Silent Guardians of Kashi: Support Flood-Hit Sadhus Today

The sacred city of Varanasi is facing a devastating crisis. The Ganga River has surged beyond the danger mark, rising nearly two meters in a matter of days. Thousands of families have already been displaced, but amidst this widespread disruption, an often-forgotten community is suffering in silence the sadhus of the Varanasi ghats. These ascetics, many of whom live along the banks of the Ganga, have seen their modest shelters submerged, their belongings destroyed, and access to food and healthcare completely cut off. Despite their central role in preserving the spiritual fabric of this ancient city, they are now struggling for survival.

Who We Are Helping
Through this campaign, Shiv Dhaam Foundation is reaching out to:
Elderly and sick sadhus stranded on flooded ghats
Ashrams affected by water damage
Devotees and mendicants who have lost access to basic needs
These individuals do not ask for much but right now, they are in urgent need of food, medicine, dry clothing, and shelter.

Our Immediate Response
Shiv Dhaam Foundation has launched an emergency relief drive focused exclusively on these spiritual communities. With your support, we aim to provide:
Ration kits with dry groceries and essentials
Over-the-counter medical supplies and first aid
Free health check-ups through mobile health camps
Basic clothing and bedding
Volunteer assistance to help sadhus relocate to safer spaces

Why Your Support Matters
In moments like these, it is easy for marginalised groups to be overlooked. While relief camps serve the broader public, very few resources are reaching the ascetic communities that have lived on these ghats for decades quietly praying, guiding pilgrims, and preserving tradition. These are the same sadhus who perform rituals for departed souls, maintain sacred fire pits, and uphold spiritual practices that have lasted for centuries. Today, they are left without shelter, food, or care.

How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward:
₹500: One medical kit
₹1,000: Ration and hygiene kit
₹5,000: Support for 5 sadhus for 10 days
₹10,000: Mobile health camp for 30+ individuals

We are working with local volunteers and doctors to ensure quick deployment, transparency, and direct outreach.

Join Us in this Critical Relief Effort
This is not just disaster relief it is a moral and cultural responsibility. Let us come together to ensure that these torchbearers of India’s spiritual heritage are not left behind.
