“In Sawan, We Worship the Cow But They Are Still Suffering in the Cold”

In a quiet village far from the noise of the world, one woman left behind comfort, family, and city life — to dedicate her entire life to serving abandoned, injured, and hungry cows.

Meena Devi's Divine Journey Began with a Darshan… and a Rescue

In 2010, while on her way for darshan in the holy month of Sawan, she saw a heartbreaking sight— cows trapped in ice, shivering and stuck in the freezing Himalayan cold. Most people walked past.

But she did not.

That day, she rescued those cows with her bare hands. With no land of her own, she rented a small shelter, and slowly began giving a new life to every abandoned cow and bull she found.

Today, more than a decade later—
She has left her old life completely to care for dozens of injured, abandoned, and elderly cows in her small Gaushala near Shimla.

But now, she needs you.

✅ A proper tin shed to protect the cows from rain and heat
Construction material for basic shelter and fencing
✅Daily green grass & nutritious food for over 100+ cows
✅  Medical aid for sick, injured, and elderly cows

These cows are my children. I don’t need much – just a roof over their heads, some green grass to eat, and medicine when they fall sick.”

In the month of Sawan, when we worship Nandi and Gau Mata, these divine beings are lying forgotten in the mud, rain, and cold.
